Baby goodies.

So I've started collecting baby clothes. I've bought a few pieces, and we've been given some hand me downs from E and Ben. Shopping online tonight could have been very bad, but I didn't buy anything. I did get a cute little romper and a shirt/pants set today at the mall. They were on sale and adorable, sooooo. I had to, right? I'm still searching for the perfect Easter outfit. I think that will be his major debut. It's also my birthday, and as of now, we're probably going to spend it in Atlanta with his Aunt Carly, Uncle Frank, and cousin SJ. I'm already excited about it!

Also, our stroller went on "clearance sale" this week. I text my mom and asked her if she thought we should buy it now or wait until later. Her response: send me the link, and I'll buy it. Holy crap! I'm so excited!! It'll be our first new piece of baby gear (besides my diaper bag). I can't wait to have it here and give it a test run.

A bump!

So I finally broke down and went shopping for maternity clothes. Actually shopping, not just perusing Target. I went to Gap and Destination Maternity.

Turns out, I DO have a baby bump in the right clothes. And I'm not sure I'm ready for the attention that bump will bring. I've been hiding it pretty well so far. I haven't told everyone at work that I'm pregnant, but when I roll in tomorrow in my newly acquired maternity pants, they'll all know. I didn't realize I wasn't ready until tonight when I was trying to decide what clothes to wear. It's just going to be weird.

Big Booty.

So. I'm at that stage where I don't look pregnant, but my clothes don't fit any more. My boobs are too big, and my belly is too bloated. Today, I stopped at Target to pick up some maternity clothes. Guess what Target sucks at? Maternity clothes. They had ONE PAIR of maternity pants. ONE. So I bought a belly band. Hopefully that will help my tight waist band issues. My pants still "fit" but they get a smidge tight when I sit down. As far as the boobs go, I'm still looking for options. My plan is to hit up Destination Maternity this weekend. I don't need much, just some clothes for work mainly.

The few people who know I'm pregnant are counting down to Thursday. Everyone is stupid excited to share our news. I'm ready to tell all of my friends too. It's hard keeping something like this a secret! However, once Thursday around 10am happens, it'll spread like wild fire, I'm sure.

Pictures to come!!!

Oops. I did it again.

Yes, yes I did. I did it. And I did it proudly. I bought white pants. Oh gah. What have I done?!

In the past, I've avoided white pants. At all costs. Like the plague. Today, I was in Banana Republic (which is now my go-to for work pants) uh, buying some more pants (shhh- Bob doesn't need to know... until he looks at my checking account and sees ANOTHER B.R. charge).

And so, I found them today. White pants. Lined. Cuffed. Straight leg. Sits low on waist. ON FINAL SALE FOR $29. Which means no returns. So I bought them. And I've already taken them to the cleaners to have the front pockets cut out and sewn shut so there's nothing to shadow or see through.

I figure, if I wear them, awesome. I've overcome my severe aversion to white pants, and can move forward through life. And if I don't wear them, I wasted $29. And I'll give them away to someone next time I clean out my closet (which will be soon... it's been a whole year and the time has come).

If/when I wear them, I may even post a picture. That'll be picture worthy for sure. A once in a lifetime (or 32-ish years) photo op.

I'm nervous already.

Upcoming Fight.

My Charlotte bff, Jess, recently married one of Bob's friends. Jess, Chris, and Bob have all been friends for a few years now. Jess is one of those people you just instantly love. The first time I met her I knew we'd be good friends. And we are. Her husband, Chris, is also a pilot and is gone a lot too. He and Bob have similar schedules, which means Jess and I are usually "single" at the same time.

And what do we do when we're "single" together? We go to the bar and watch football games. No lie. It's so sad, but we both love football. Usually we end up shopping or baking afterward, so it all works out. This past Sunday after the game, we spend 3+ hours in Target. At least 30 minutes of that was spent on the baking aisle and another 30 picking out wrapping paper. I don't know why. We just ended up parking on an aisle and talking about random stuff. Which apparently we did all over the store since we were in there for so long. By the time we left, security was tailing us. I assume they thought we had sticky fingers. We did not. Hmpf.

Anyway, a couple of weekends ago we ended up at the mall, where we each purchased the most amazing blankets ever. She had already received one as a wedding gift, but they were on a pretty massive sale, so she bought another (as a "gift" that she'll never actually get around to giving to anyone, but Chris doesn't need to know that).

I'm telling you... This is the blanket to end all blankets. We bought them during a $25 flash sale in store, but the full price is worth every penny. I have snuggled up to it every single day since the day I brought it home. And even better, Jack hasn't found it yet. He still molests his old regular blanket. I'm dreading the day when he realizes what I've got. It's going to be an all out fight to the death to see who will win. It's that good. Pinky promise.

Anything but basic.

When I really like something, I like to make it known. So. If you're ever in the New Orleans area, you MUST go by Basics Underneath on Magazine. Amazing. Ashley and I went down to Nola this past weekend for my bachelorette party. Unlike her Vegas excursion, I wanted a low key, relaxing, fun weekend. Both of us having lived in Nola for some years, that was the first place we thought.

I'm doing a "special" photo shoot for Bob and needed some sexy little underpinnings to wear in the pictures. Of course, New Orleans is the perfect place to buy these sort of things. Of the places we actually found (The Google steered us wrong... a lot), Basics Underneath was by far the best place. I'll admit I wasn't expecting much when we went in there. I thought maybe I'd find a panty set or two, but no. I walked out of there with the cutest, most flattering lingerie I've ever been in or seen. The sweet little salesgirls helped me pick out the most amazing items that made me feel sexy and beautiful without looking like a hooker. And the smell of that store? Ohmygawd. I typically don't do smelly stuff, but that place. Wow. I wanted to leave the garments in the bag once I got home so they would continue to smell that way!

So anyway, if you need a little something special, you now know where to go!
