So. The hormones are raging, and the tears are falling. Every single
freaking thing causes me to cry. Commercials. Songs. Thoughts... Every
thing.
The most frequent bringer-oner of tears... thinking of how I'll tell my
Daddy that I'm pregnant. My poor Daddy has been waiting soooo long for a
grandkid. As as I sit here crying, I realize how proud I am to be able
to give him one.
I've arranged for him to pick me up from the airport when I go home in a
couple weeks. If I don't tell him immediately, I don't know if I will
be able to wait until we get back to the g'rents house (30 minutes
away). I certainly can't tell him while he's driving... Dude would
probably run off the road. So then do I tell him at the airport or wait
and tell he and the g'rents all together? Gah!
Mom already knows, I had to tell her to get her input on morning
sickness. She had it for 9 long months with my Brother Little. I knew
she'd have some good suggestions for me. So anyway. It's soooo hard not
to share with everyone yet!
I go to the doctor the day after tomorrow. Squeeeeee!!

Old Ladies R Us.
So apparently I'm the epitome of a sad, old, out of touch, white lady. I thought Bruno Mars was a skinny white guy with glasses. He's not. I have NO IDEA who I was picturing as Bruno Mars, but after seeing his picture tonight, I realized just how incorrect I was. The guy I thought he was is kind of a cross between Moby and Michael Buble. Nerdy. Glasses. Non-descript hair cut. Who knows.
Speaking of old ladies... today I got to reprise my high school role of cheerleader. I was elected cheerleader at the wheelchair race at work. I pulled out some good cheers too. Oh yes, I did. No tumbling, though. They were all impressed with my enthusiasm and spirit.
In case you didn't know, I WAS given the "Spirit Award" at my high school graduation. Oh yea, baby. That meant I walked across the stage three times. That was three times too many. My daddy was sitting in the audience taking bets with all the peeps sitting around him on WHEN, not IF, I would fall mid-stride. Don't you love when parents have complete confidence in their children?! As payment for those bets, I broke his finger that night. He was seated on the aisle. As we processed back up the aisle after graduating, he stuck his hand out to shake mine. My adrenaline, from not falling across stage three times, was pumping so good that I squeezed his hand so hard it broke his finger. True story. But he's left handed, and he stuck out his right hand. So no real harm done. Except for the broken bone. Oops.
So yeah. Anyway. This old lady has the most perfect job ever... working with and cheering on other old ladies. Perfect.

Daddy vs. Technology.
I've always been a Daddy's girl. For my whole life, he's been my biggest fan. We've had our tiffs over the years, but neither of us can stay mad at each other.
He's reeeeal country. He's always had a simple life. Work, pay bills, fish, hang with family, go to church. He's not big on technology. He's very intelligent; he just doesn't need a lot of gadgets in his life to prove it.
A few months ago, he purchased a new Tahoe, complete with a 6 disk cd changer. After BL and I pointed out that feature, his response was, "Well, I only have 1 cd. Guess I better go buy 5 more." He has no idea how the internet works and is hesitant to use his debit card. He's old school. And I love him for it.
Two weeks ago, he bought a Kindle Fire. Why? So he could have a reader to use when he teaches his Sunday school class and so he could have his devotionals at his fingertips. This is a man who JUST upgraded to a flip phone not too long ago. Yes, upgraded. As in, he had one of those mini brick cell phones for years. His new flip phone takes pictures, which he uses to send me pics of babies at church. As hints, you know. To get busy making him some grandkids.
Anyway. The Kindle. After numerous phone calls, I've finally explained to him how the internet works, how wireless connections work, and how to access Amazon. I've had migraines after every phone call. I love him, so I take the time to painfully explain every little thing. It's exhausting.

Hello, from the far East.
Howdy peeps. So a LOT has happened in the last 2 weeks. I took my pictures and love every one of them. It was an amazing experience. If you're in Little Rock and need some fun pics taken, may I suggest Meredith Melody? She rocks. Super professional and super talented.
As you can see from my title, I am officially Charlotte's newest resident. Daddy, Bob, and I packed up and moved East. Dad and I packed on Sunday, drove to Memphis and met Bob, did a wedding food tasting on Monday, then headed to NC. We got here about 230 Tuesday morning, and let me tell you, that was one hell of a drive. Holy balls. 13 hours in a car with Bob... AND JACK (otherwise known as The Kitty). We all survived. Barely.
I'm mostly unpacked, but sweet lord, I have a lot of shit. I threw away two dumpsters full of crap, but now that I'm here, I'm throwing more away. I've been left here alone, as Bob and Dad both left yesterday morning. Daddy went back to Hometown, Bob went to work. It's just me and Jack. Alone. Together. Yikes.
On tap for today, join a gym, continue unpacking, and find the liquor store. This girl needs wine.
